Every 8th grade & 9th grade student residing in the five boroughs of New York City is eligible to apply to the NYC LAB School. During the month of October, 8th grade public school students receive an individualized high school application from their current guidance counselors. 9th graders can request an application from their guidance counselor if they wish to transfer to another public high school.
Students attending private/ parochial schools can also request a New York City public high school application through their current schools.
District 2 students or residents, Manhattan students or residents, and then New York City residents of the outer boroughs then receive priority for admissions.
